Cue by Manus alternative: MausBot

A Cue by Manus alternative without the invite code: the open source team-of-agents app, each bot with its own model, computer and apps, on your own machine.

Cue by Manus gives you several personal agents, each with its own email, phone number, wallet and cloud computer, behind an invite code. MausBot is the open source Cue alternative: the same team shape since August 2026, on your own machine, on your own Claude, ChatGPT or Grok account, with no invite, no card and no undisclosed model.

What Cue by Manus is

Cue launched on September 28, 2026 alongside Manus 2.0. Each agent has its own identity: an email address, a phone number that can take and make calls, a wallet with a budget you set, and a computer in Manus's cloud. Agents collaborate in one conversation and can order from a restaurant's QR code. It is in early access with an invite code, free for now, on web, macOS (Apple Silicon) and Android, with iOS in review.

Why people look for a Cue by Manus alternative

  • Invite only: the launch code was reported capped at 1,000 users.
  • The model is undisclosed and every agent runs in Manus's cloud.
  • Data under Manus's privacy terms: a third-party audit found a training opt-out that is off by default and an unspecified retention period for conversation logs.
  • Manus bills in credits; Cue's Plus tier is implied but unpriced.
  • Closed source: nothing to read, self-host or run air-gapped.

What MausBot is

MausBot is a free, open-source chat app where every contact is an AI bot with its own model, its own computer, and its own connected apps. Bots run on the claude, codex, and grok CLIs installed on your own machine, with your existing logins, so one bot can be on Claude and the next on ChatGPT. Shell commands and file edits surface as Allow / Deny cards before they run, bots share group rooms and hand work to each other, and your data stays in ~/.openmausbot on your disk. It is published on GitHub under Apache 2.0, with iOS and Android companions, and paid Cloud plans from $29 a month keep bots working with the laptop closed.
